Ancient Egypt AU

I finally finished this drawing! I love how it turned out!!

In this AU, Touma, after being revived, ends up in an alternate, magical version of Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians know he's someone who came back from the dead (Touma still doesn't understand how), and they think he's a mummy brought back to life by the gods. Therefore, they quickly give him the treatment that someone "chosen by the gods" deserves. Touma is the equivalent of a high-ranking nobleman, just below the Pharaoh. And he's trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

Meanwhile, Setsu reincarnated as the equivalent of the Hebrews of that world, who are forbidden from using magic. Setsu, who didn't know this because his mother had no idea he could use magic, uses his magic to heal his mother and siblings after an accident. He was quickly arrested and separated from his family at the age of five. He couldn't do anything because the Egyptians developed tools to block magic that left you half-dead, both physically and mentally, the first time someone was struck by them. And with the body of an infant, there wasn't much he could do.

Being a child with astonishing magical abilities, instead of being executed, he was taken to the palace to be sold and given as a gift to the pharaoh or any nobleman who wanted him first. There he met Touma, who quickly took him under his wing. Unfortunately, even with all his influence, he couldn't lift Setsu from his slave status, but being taken under the protection of someone chosen by the gods granted Setsu certain privileges that other slaves could never have.

Touma couldn't age because his time was frozen due to a flaw in the summoning process. Setsu, on the other hand, reincarnated normally and could grow, something he quickly realized. Touma tries to improve the situation in Egypt with the slaves, Hebrews, and sacrifices, but the Egyptians aren't stupid and are just as greedy, regardless of whether someone chosen by the gods speaks to them. So there's not much Touma can do without them trying to kill him.

Because he's someone of high status, Touma was given a custom-made chair. Yes, that's real. In Egypt, they did that for pharaohs and high-ranking individuals.I have the complete chair in a separate post. It basically tells what the Egyptians believe happened to Touma.

This drawing could also be considered a Halloween drawing, although it's only because I'm running late.

Let me introduce you to Princess Margaret from Isekai Shoukan Wa Nidome Desu! I hate how the anime treated her. They made her seem like an idiot who wants to start a war just because, without thinking about the consequences, when she's the complete opposite. She's a proud princess who wants the best for her kingdom (which is in shambles!). She'll do everything she can to improve the situation, even if it means starting a new war. She fought one of the demon kingdom's generals in person to defend her kingdom. She lost, but damn, I love her for it.In the manga, they imply these things, but they haven't gone into much more detail yet, but I hope they do.Oh, and yes, she's in love with Touma. According to Setsu in the novel, she was always after Touma. (Um, at that time, the princess seems to have been around 13 or 14, because now she looks like she's 19 or 20.) Touma and the princess were canonically good friends. (We all know Touma was in love with someone else, but that doesn't stop him from loving the princess as a friend.)

The background is a wall of Destinia Castle from the first chapter, because I'm not yet skilled enough to draw backgrounds.

In this drawing, I got pretty symbolic. XD I thought about letting you interpret it yourselves, but I couldn't help myself. XDThis represents how Setsu is blind to his true situation in Eclair World and to his own friends (including Yuuhi), while Touma decides to take responsibility for trying to get Setsu to open his eyes. As a result, he ends up suffocating from the desperation that no matter what he does, Setsu won't listen to him, but he still wants to stay by his side.Likewise, Setsu refuses to let go of Touma even though he doesn't believe his words or the sins Touma has committed. He knows what Touma did is wrong, but he doesn't care, and he won't punish him while he's still alive. At the same time, he doesn't realize that not letting Touma receive the proper penance is the ultimate punishment.
