Every so often the library worked hard to collect a bunch of books to donate to the local school. About a month previous they brought a new box for donations and now it was completely full. The librarian and Woohyun sat together and sorted through the age groups for the books. They spoke about what each grade had to learn and decided that the kitten should probably go to the little kids classes. He learned it was called kindergarten. His insides were bubbling with excitement to see little human kids and to go into a real school. He had never entered a real school before. There was a first for everything, and despite his excitement he was also a little bit nervous to find out what he missed all these years.
“Alright, sweet kitten. It’s time for us to go. Remember to stay close and memorize your way home. I know you’ll want to play once you get there so don’t be afraid to do so, okay? I will tell them it’s alright to let you play.” The old man told Woohyun. “Now pick up your books and follow me.” The kitten obediently picked up his box of books for little learning readers, ones he could barely read himself, and began to follow the librarian outside. It was in the afternoon, so the school day would be over soon, they wanted to get there just in time. He followed his elder, tail swaying back and forth. His deep brown eyes examined every turn they made so he could make his way back to the library easily.
Then they arrived at the school. He gazed in awe at the building as he padded up the steps into the school. There was a dull murmur of childrens voices throughout the halls. They checked in with the office, the librarian talking under his breath to the secretary. Woohyun knew he was talking about him, so he just looked down and pretended he didn’t know. Once they were ready the librarian led him to the classroom he was supposed to enter. He looked through the window with widened eyes. “So many little humans...” He spoke softly before he opened the door and stepped in, leaving his elder behind him. All little eyes were on him and it didn’t take long for them to be oohing and awwing over his ears and tail as he padded to the desk where a handsome teacher was.
“H-Hello. I am bringing you books from the library donations for your class.” Woohyun smiled shyly then he felt a little touch on his tail and he mewled. He nearly jumped out of his skin, scurrying to the side of the desk as he stared at the children surrounding him. “O-Oh.. Hello.” He said quietly to the little faces before he looked sheepishly back at the teacher, hoping he would tell him what to do or how to handle this situation.
