'Senior' ISIS recruiter a female student from Seattle,Washington

The mainstream media said she was Dutch or British and lived in the Islamic State “capital” of Raqqa. They said it…but they were wrong. Channel 4 News in Seattle revealed an in-depth report  that showed the infamous ISIS recruiter @_UmmWaqqas on Twitter is actually Rawdah Abdisalaam, a 20-something year old student in Seattle.

She has posted pictures- presumably of herself- and friends dressed in full burqas, with no face showing.

Channel 4 wrote:

@_UmmWaqqas is today revealed by Channel 4 News to have been set up and operated by Rawdah Abdisalaam, a twenty-something female believed to be from Seattle. She advocates mass emigration to Islamic State while seemingly enjoying the creature comforts of the American lifestyle, watching the Denver Broncos on a super-widescreen HDTV and tweeting pictures of double cheeseburgers.

Her Twitter account was recently accessed from Seattle, though friends say she has moved away, and her exact location remains unclear….

Her @_UmmWaqqas Twitter account has been one of the more popular pro-Islamic State accounts, particularly among women, with 8,000 followers. Her account defends ISIS brutality; she justifies the burning to death of the Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh as “an eye for an eye”.

Advocating women join ISIS- the Hijrah

This woman  counsels recruits for ISIS and is one of the last people to talk with them as they leave for the front lines of the terrorist stronghold. She has used several Twitter accounts for her nefarious work, and all have been shut down. Until she comes up with new ones, which is highly likely.

She linked her @_UmmWaqqas account with an ISIS “travel guide” and often gave advice to new followers on how to protect themselves in the  area where they would be traveling. She also told recruits about the spiritual justification for joining ISIS. According to Channel 4, she was in frequent contact with people who joined the Islamic State even after they were already there.

The names of many of her contacts are familiar to international intelligence groups, some of which were in Britain. But she had plenty of American contacts as well.

Last week, the FBI declared they have ‘an ISIS recruiting problem,’ after 6 men were arrested for planning to join the Islamic State. @_UmmWaqqas was in direct contact with several of them.

The news channel actually spoke to the woman in March, but didn’t get very far into the conversation when they asked her if she was from Seattle. She waited a few minutes and then said “bye.”At one point the woman claimed to be Dutch, but changed it to being from Finland. She at first stated she was  a journalism student but then said she had changed her major to being a “teacher.” Her friends acknowledge that the account belonged to her.

They have been unable to confirm if more than one person is using the @_UmmWaqqas account. But some of the photos she used on that account were matched to places in Seattle.
