                  LIKE MANY OTHERS,  she had entertained the idea that the being beneath the mask was a constructed monster, bred for a SINGULAR PURPOSE. neither human nor any other known species. the billowing fabrics, unseen eyes and near robotic voice ( courtesy of the synthesizer ) certainly gave POTENTIAL FRUIT to those theories. and many, she’s certain, still harbor such THOUGHTS. yet, while she would never down-play the abilities he possesses, she sees him now more of a spoiled child than anything else. when it came to anything aside other than BATTLE, at least.      ❛     sent any officers to the INFIRMARY today, ren?    ❜

                        ❛   ARE YOU FINISHED ?   ❜   the muscle beneath his uniform flexes uncomfortably, the vest tight around his abdomen. the sith had always been a secret weapon. thrusted up into leadership despite an immature, debilitating psyche. he believed in the strength of man, where it is pulled from the chest cavity with dirty fingers. the Force had always been out of reach and it had always failed when needed most.  KYLO REN WAS A CHILD.  despite having been physically an adult for a decade. it was pathetic, his immaturity diffusing through the air like the smell of engine oil.

           he doesn’t text. doesn’t call. just waits with arms crossed and hips pressed against brick, watching other employees file out the exit. it’s UNSETTLING enough that he can’t place what they are, that he’s standing here driven by the wild impulse see him ( and acting on impulse is bad enough ). but here he is all the same, waiting until the last kid walks by before catching the door, stepping deftly inside.

shaw was a jaeger pilot, but became a kwoon fightmaster for a time after her initial drift partner, cole, was killed in action.

she’s one of the rare people who’s drift compatible with more than one person. currently, she’s part of a three-person team comprised of john reese and sam ‘root’ groves.

root, reese, and shaw pilot a jaeger named ‘the machine’. 

the machine was one of the earliest jaegers, built by a man named harold finch, with the help of nathan ingram. 

the three keep in constant contact with finch, who now works as their neural bridge operator. joss carter is their mission controller. lionel fusco is a strike trooper who often accompanies them on missions, helping carter organize the front lines.

shaw, root, finch, reese, carter, and fusco are sometimes collectively referred to as ‘team machine’.
