Josephine wasn’t sure how she had ended up in Isobel’s room, let alone her bed. All she knew was that right now … she didn’t want to be alone. The blonde woman was sleeping, hopefully not waking up from the disturbance, even if at this state Josephine couldn’t have cared less. It felt too familiar, this sense of closeness, and yet Josephine had the feeling as if it was a long forgotten sensation, one that she would never be able to enjoy to its fullest. Not after the things that had happened, not after she was forced to push away everyone she cared about and cared for her. It was painful, but it was also easier, and Josephine shuddered at the idea of keeping those who had her trust close, knowing that sooner or later they’d break apart anyways. Isobel was one of those people and she had tried so hard, always had Josephine’s back but she would only hold her back, only keep her from reaching the goal of earning back her freedom. Pushing Isobel away was more for the blonde’s sake than her own and she just hoped that one day Iz would be able to forgive her. She sighed softly, whiskey-laced breath tickling along Isobel’s forehead when Josie leaned in to press a kiss onto the top of her head only to withdraw, climb out of the bed and once again become the person she hoped everyone would despise.
