Shane was born and raised in Melbourne, Austrialia. It was a place that he loved, and full of all the people that he loved and cared about. It was where he met and fell in love with the woman that he would eventually marry, and have two children with. Two boys that he loved and adored, and talked about whenever he got the chance.

He decided to buy a small shop, right on the coast. A place where surfers or beach goers could buy the things that might have forgot: Like sunscreen, or water. Just a small mom and pop shop that he could work at, and a place he could be with his boys and wife.

One night - it was late, and Shane was stuck doing inventory - he sent his sons and wife homes, and wanted to get the task finished before the beginning of the month (Which started the next day.) The front bell went off, that signled someone had entered the shop. Shane thought it might be his wife wanting to come help him finish what he was doing.

To his surprise, he was met with a young man. Small blood streams fell down his chin, and a sly smirk was on his face. Before Shane had a chance to process what was happening the man forced his wrist into Shane’s mouth, and forced him to drink the blood that was flowing from the open wound on his wrist. The next thing he remembered was the quick pain before everything went dark. This man had broke Shane’s neck, and he died. Or at least he thought he had, until he woke up from the blackness.

When he woke, he had an insatiable hunger and a seering pain that was coming from his gums. Unsure of what to do, he walked outside into the darkmess from the shop - and he was met with two teenagers, who were making out by a small fire on the beach. Shane attacked the two of them, and drained them dry of blood. This completed his transition, and he was now a vampire.

Unsure of what to do - he fled Melbourne without a word to anyone. He learned how to live with what he had become - as he went. Until he learned of a town located in New Orlean’s, that was known as a safe haven for the supernatural - and that was where he was going.
