There is a local dojo to me that teaches okinawan isshinryu karate-do. Most of the karate in my area is Americanized and doesn’t interest me. Can anyone speak to this style? I like to do a fair bit of fighting but I enjoy kata as well

i've barely talked about this but i wanna be an actress cause i noticed there arent many if at all any american-cambodian actresses on tv and i've always liked acting and i wanna be in action movies and stuff too and my karate background could help with that and it could also promote isshinryu karate and stuff if i got famous cause theres no action movies with isshinryu karate either really...seems like it'd be interesting if i became an actress
Out of curiosity, what rank are you currently [I'm of course referring to your study of Isshinryu Karate!] ? I go to an Isshinryu dojo in northern New Jersey [and have just returned after a 2 year hiatus, as I've decided to call it], and I'm currently an Ik Kyu~~
I think i’m supposed to be promoted to ik kyu next month at the Tokumura seminar in Seattle buuuut i don’t really think i’m ready to be promoted :s I’ve also just returned after a 4 year hiatus as well and man it’s ruff trying to remember everything again >.<
im going to start training everyday after my arm fully heals from the surgery, i'm aiming to be a world champion like both my parents but i can tell it's gonna be hella difficult but im gonna do it ...eventually ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
