Cobra Kai (S5E2) / The Next Karate Kid
Only you know who you are as a person. You don’t need validation from others. The words of others do not define who you are. Once you find your true self, the rest are just noises.

Cobra Kai S3E6
When you realize Cobra Kai is more Taekwon-Do (Korean) than Karate (Japanese). Which means, the fight we’ll see in Season 5 between Silver and Chozen is actually Korean Taekwon-Do versus Okinawan Karate.
Taekwon-Do focus more on kicking techniques while Karate focus more on hand techniques, which is why Miyagi-Do is good at defending with their hands while Cobra Kai is good with kicking with their legs for offense.
The more you know.

Miz Cracker
I think the best thing I learned today is that Miz Cracker and I share a love of both drag AND karate.
I have chosen to stan forever!
This is my submission for @makotoniijimaweek Day 6: “Pastimes / Interests” During the Kaneshiro arc, prior to her awakening, Makoto Niijima made mention that she took Aikido before. I am a Martial Artist myself. I took Shotokan Karate at the age of 7 to the age of 12 and am currently studying Arnis under the Cinco Teros system of Filipino Martial Arts. So this revelation instantly inspired me to make sketches that show more of that side of Makoto’s interests. I do think that Aikido fits her personality and adds to her appeal as the “Warrior Woman” of the group since Aikido has roots in the Martial Art that the Samurai used in their lifetime. I also added a bit of my own inference in analyzing her fighting style and decided to depict her in a Karategi since she has striking in her attacks in-game. This is contradictory to the principles of (pure) Aikido, and thus I assumed through my own knowledge and experience that she probably also has a background in Okinawan Kobudo and/or a form of Karate since she also favors the use of the Tekko. I hope that these not only pique your interest as fans of Makoto, but also inspire you all to perhaps get into Aikido or any Martial Art in the future. I have found a legitimate Sensei that teaches Aikido in my area and am planning to take it once I have established a stable foundation in Filipino Martial Arts. Good day and God bless!!! P.S. There was a day-long power outage today in my part of the Philippines and thus I am late for this particular submission. My sincerest apologies. :-(

Did a simple infographic about the martial arts used in the series. It’s hard to summarise with just a few words. Hope you like it! 🤓
