Avengers #3.1

Another cool issue here.  I’m starting to see what Waidis doing.  Every other issue is a Present and “Past” issue, until something inevitably collides via time [and most likely Kang.]

But in the meantime, this issue was really cool to see how Wanda, Quicksilver and Hawkeye proved themselves to the public eye, bye stopping a major incident from The Thinker within a very short amount of time.  Whoever that Cressida person is, that they met in the last issue, she severely powered them up to epic proportions.

But in this issue, we find out that those power ups come at a major price.  And I’m very curious to see how Cap and the rest react to that, when they find out.  One major piece of continuity here is that Cap & the rest are referring to her as “Avenger X” and they’re keeping her a secret from the public.  [Maybe THATS why she wasn’t originally in the comics in the 60′s...] =P

[Spoiler]

One last thing.  We find that Cressida actually has a secret agenda of her own, to destroy the Avengers from within.  And she actually succeeds in putting Quicksilver down by powering up one of his enemies.  This big bruiser of a guy breaks his legs and everything, which was insane

From the TV she smiles.  “One down... three to go.”
