Eisner did it all in the industry... and the awards that the comic industry give to recognize their best and brightest each year are known as the Eisner Awards. The man is a legend... so his opinion on the Kirby vs Marvel lawsuit of the mid-80s is important to focus on. 💥💥💥 Published in #Issue110 of the Comic Book Journal (published in August of 1986) was a page long ad... more like a plea... from Eisner to Marvel. In this plea Eisner begs for Marvel to stop their fuckery, return Jack’s original art and try not to besmirch the Kirby name since he was one of the architects of their great success. While sending a strong message, the letter is simplistic and gets right to the point... old school, like Eisner himself. 💥💥💥 This letter must have meant a lot to Kirby, because it was Eisner who gave Jack one of his first jobs in comics. They were great friends forever after that pairing, and you can see how much they got along in the picture of them I posted here (pic 4).
