gnd experimenting with different creams and spreading them on herself for joe to taste he suggested it (someone actually requested this... i'm sorry 😭)

in her heavily pink-themed bedroom filled with plushies. joe has to turn all thirty of them around because she doesn't want them "watching." joe just laughs and goes, "aww... is my honey embarrassed?" (their first time and anon request for it and this will be the scenario, sorry 😔)

hey! first of all i need to say that i love your writing and read girl next door its the highlight of my day :) hihi soooo i want to know if joe and reader have an age gap or they both 34? and if they have an age gap, you think of write about it? like idk maybe if someone mentions it and one of them get insecure or they just talk about it cause they want to know where both of them want to go with theirs lifes and relationship ?? well idk if that makes sense but yeah i love u keep writing !!! mwah <3

in my head, girl next door is a little younger than joe, but not by a huge amount. joe is 34 and i always imagined her around 29–31.

old enough to build a life on her own, move across the country, open a café, survive heartbreak and grief, and know who she is. but also young enough to still have those moments where she's figuring things out, making impulsive decisions, and believing she can start over somewhere new.

honestly, i don't think their relationship revolves around age that much. i think it revolves more around life stages.

joe is a touring musician and actor whose life is constantly moving. meanwhile she owns a little neighborhood café and finds comfort in routine. hespends months on the road, she knows all her regular customers by name. joe gets recognized by strangers, she can disappear into a crowd. they're very different people, but they never feel unequal to me.

if anything, i think joe is the one who gets insecure sometimes not because of the age gap, but because his life can be so unpredictable. i can totally see him wondering if he can give her the stable life she deserves. meanwhile she's over there thinking, "why would someone like him be interested in my life?"

and then they both realize they're idiots because joe loves her café and she loves listening to him talk about music for hours 🤭🫶🏼

funny enough, i was actually thinking about writing a drabble related to this... in my head, girl next door dresses very differently from joe's world. she's all cardigans, floral prints, cute sweaters and bakery aprons. so i had this idea where she attends one of his shows and suddenly realizes none of her clothes scream "rockstar's girlfriend" loool cue her borrowing a leather jacket and wearing an outfit that's the complete opposite of her usual vibe. meanwhile joe is looking for his sweet girl in the crowd and almost doesn't recognize her for a second 😭😭 idk if i'll write it, but the idea has been living in my head for a while now 😗😗
