Thanks! I just got a fabric grab-bag in and it was the color that best suited the green on the rest of the bike.

Yeah, it took a number of tries to get it started -- the directions weren’t the clearest in the manual, and there turned out to be a doohickey I needed to lower that’s part of the machine -- so I feel you for sure.

I’m very proud of myself :D There’s stuff I should have done a little differently, mainly hemming the sides AFTER attaching them to the top -- but it all worked out in the end, at least.

Aw, sucks! The seat or the entire bike? It almost feels worse when it’s just one part because the odds of someone stealing it because they needed it as opposed to just be A Little Shit are pretty low.

oh I love that! nice fabric choice. you might need to cover it if you ever leave the bike outside, personally I use a shower cap for this...

Well, the nice thing is it’s easily removable, so even if it does get wet I can take it off and wash it pretty easily. I try not to store my bike outside if I can help it, but one never knows when a summer shower will hit...

So, what is actually going on? I missed the start of this discussion. Are you doing an expansion, with the benefit of all your years of writing, or will this eventually end up original fic, with none of the HP trappings?

I’m turning it into an original novel -- there will still be probably a lot of HP-style trappings in terms of it still being about a magical world (I’ve changed the term from “wizarding world” to “Court” -- there aren’t wizards and muggles, there’s just Court and unCourt, and muggleborns are “born unCourt”). But yeah, eventually everyone will be renamed, I’m just still using the original names right now to keep things clear.

when you say the post is "not visible" do you mean on your dash or in the tags? because tag/search pages just don't show posts half the time, it's been like that for maybe a year now

Tags AND dash. Like, the only way I can see or find it is to navigate to my own tumblr and dig it up there. It’s not visible anywhere else, though it’s not flagged or in processing or posted private. No idea why, I got nothin’.

have you seen or heard anything about international broadcasts for the hdm tv show? I haven't heard anything about australian broadcasts, which means that however I watch it won't be counted towards any viewer data, which sucks

basically hbo got the international (non-uk) rights for the show, so it’s mainly gonna get broadcast via hbo’s international channels/partnersas for australia, i heard it’ll be on foxtel - here are more details!

will pillowfort ever allow people sharing posts to add to the post, or will it always just be nested comments? I'd love to get more active on pillowfort but I really miss the collaborative aspect of posts

We don’t plan to implement a system of captioning in the way that Tumblr does, but what we are planning to add eventually is the ability to ‘feature’ comments underneath a post when reblogging it. So if you see a post with a great comment, you can reblog the post and ‘feature’ that comment under the reblog in your feed. It will replicate the essence of how the Tumblr captioning system works, but still lets post creators maintain ultimate control over their own posts and the replies made to them.

what is an optional skate? I've heard people say it's not actually optional, if that's true why is it called that?

Optional skate is a type of practice. The practice itself is not optional but the physical act of skating on the ice is optional. These practices might include video review, strength conditioning, team meetings, talking to nutritionists, working with massage and physical therapists etc. 

Usually this is where the star players will rest while still getting practice in, while benched players or struggling players will get on the ice for more practice, whether it’s taking shots or running drills or taking faceoffs.

This issue comes up a lot in fan fiction i’ve noticed, where they may have players who are in a long distance relationship say “oh i don’t need to go to work today it’s it’s optional skate!” and no that’s not how it works. These players will still have to show up, however like i said the skating part is optional. NHL payers only get 4 days a month where they are not doing anything work related.
