Trump picked Brendan Carr, who wrote the FCC portion of Project 2025, as his new FCC chair. He's likely to end Net Neutrality, revoke Section 230 to punish social media for their alleged "anti-conservative" bias, allow ISPs to impose data caps, and give lots of federal money to Elon Musk's Starlink. Ars Technica wrote about him before he was picked.

I expect it will be near impossible for social media after this. The liability exposure will be just too great. Facebook is not going to want to keep your comments about what your MAGA uncle said to you about minorities last night after he can sue them for you being mean to him. And of course Internet will be expensive as hell after this. Why do we have to keep living in the darkest timeline?
