I'm gonna say it. All those memes and shit about hating French people, British people, etc, are extremely damaging to young people who are genuinely trying to do better than their country's history.
Duality exists. You can be proud of your nationality and still be ashmed of its history.
Just like how you you can condemn the actions of people's ancestors without condemning people alive today. I'm not saying that everyone is innocent today. And I'm not saying that the affects of colonisation and slavery don't still exist and are ancient history because they're not. But what I am saying is stop immediately hating people are being French/British for things that they had no control over because they didn't even exist.
