A little something I wrote for my uni project. It’s based in an AU where Korkie is the son of Satine and Obi Wan (or as I call it canon cause I will go down with the Rey Kenobi theory). It’s a letter written by Satine telling the truth about Korkie.
SATINE’S LETTER My Dearest Ben,
If this letter happens to find you, my circumstances have drastically changed. Or fate has intervened. In any case I know you will be strong. Which makes the content of this letter even harder to write.
You’ve met with my nephew Korkie, a remarkable young man. He’s my son, he’s our son. The only people that know are myself, my brother and his wife. Now you. My brother took in the child raised him as his own, for that I am eternally grateful.
I understand your anger, please understand this from my point of view. I had only gotten control of Mandalore, I needed to prove my strength to the people. To discover that I was not only with child but a Jedi being the father would have only destroyed the peace.
No matter how much I wanted to tell you, it would have been selfish. I know you would have dropped everything to be with me and Korkie. You loved me just as much as you loved being a Jedi. I couldn’t take that away from you.
As the years went on, the harder it became to tell you. By the time we saw each other again, you were a Master and held a seat on the council. I wasn’t going to destroy your reputation, your dreams.
I know you Ben, I know the guilt will eat away at you. Please don’t do this to yourself. It was my choice to keep this hidden from you. Be kind to yourself and know that you gave me the greatest gift of all, our son.
Whatever happens I love you. I always will.
