fingers dancing along the shelves, your other hand gripped atsumu’s tightly as you gently swayed your arms back and fourth. “we won’t be long.” you hummed as your boyfriend nodded. time management was never an issue when it came to you, anytime with you spent was more than worthwhile to him.
“what did ya even need to get?” he asked as he glanced down at the black acrylic basket securely clutched in his free hand. “just, stuff.” you replied scanning the brief list of needed groceries on your phone.
atsumu gazed around the brightly lit store as various colours flooded his vision. feeling a weak tug on his arm, he followed suit as you guided him over to an array of freshly picked vegetables stacked in crates riddled with splinters from the wood.
picking up various vegetables and assessing them, you duh through your choice in hopes to find the best of everything as atsumu scanned his own eyes over your choices. “here.” he nodded over to a create of fresh tomatos.
you thanked him as you selected the ones you deemed worthy and placed them in the basket before turning your attention to the rest of your list. atsumu’s attention was grasped by a small girl and her assumed father out from the corner of his eye. the little girl grinning wide eyed at the two of you as her father was scanning his own list.
turning to face her a little, atsumu smiled at her before turning his attention back to you. upon seeing you and atsumu smiling and laughing together the little girl tugged on her fathers arm as they walked past the two of you.
atsumu’s attention is hardly shared when it came to you, but his ears coukdnt help but perk up at the sound of the young girls voice ringing through the soft hums of background chatter.
“when i’m big, i want to get married and go shopping with my husband too!” the girl smiled brightly as her and her father walked past the two of you, her eyes focused on yourself and atsumu much to your unknowingness.
husband.
a word that had played on atsumu’s mind for quite some time now. the word teasing him, provoking him and making its presence best known to him more often than he’d liked to admit.
looking at your soft expression, it was then he decided that if he was going to be your husband and officially shop as a married couple, it would be damn soon.
a little while longer and the two of you paid and headed back to your apartment, a slight spring in the setters step and an unfamiliar, but bright twinkle in his eye. he only intended to assist you in your weekly shop, but he’d come back with a date for a hopeful engagement planned out instead.
