It’s over 100k now...
*Gasp*
I’m tired. But today it is a different kind of tired.
My absence lately has been due mostly to three factors: working 7 days a week and the exhaustion this brings, searching for/finding a vehicle to replace my poor first child, and two people in particular jeopardizing my free time in their strange attempts at winning my affection. Not to mention the ever-present abject terror of my future and every aspect of the preparation thereof that I seem utterly incapable of mastering.
But, determined to enjoy this wonderful season and desperate to fend off the feeling that permeated summer of all my time slipping effortlessly through my fingertips, I have begun taking steps.
Last week I acquired a fetching little car that runs admirably and is completely in my name; thus, freedom from the house and the forced reliance on others’ time and schedules and willingness (or lack thereof) to help me.
Yesterday, my first day off in two weeks, I ignored my phone completely and took myself for a long drive with only the sunlight and the autumn air for company and explored hiking trails in a place I’d never been before. I stopped at antique stores on the way home, and finally, spent hours reading in a quiet cafe/used bookstore with the barista’s dog whining for pets next to my occupied armchair.
Today my first credit card is in the mail, and I’m stopping to get spare car keys made on my way into work. This morning I sent out a number of emails to potential candidates for a regular therapist, and either tonight or tomorrow, I’ll begin research and solid planning into my car and loan payments that will begin in the coming month.
tl;dr: Adulting, and surviving it, too.
Can you tell I’m conflicted between your world and non-reality, and between being a life-admiring hippie and a fuck all, where-am-I junkie? I’m still in limbo.
Finally watched this week's TVD. I'm wondering why I still do. '-_-
