I was talking to bog about this the other day but for a long time I have I've unironically been into "geek dude with a pony tail who walks around anime conventions in a trenchcoat and fedora carrying a katana" I always found that kind of thing charming and endearing, before that became highkey associated with like gamergaters and meninist crap and the sad part is a lot of those guys were actually indoctrinated into that culture blaming feminism and whatever stuff for people bullying/rejecting them rather than the real issue which was society's rampant, universal problem with body image at large (especially fatphbobia) and cringe culture/anti neurodiverent sentiments and I have seen first hand with ex friends who were otherwise really great guys for years and years devolve into that via cess pool interwebs but that's a whole can of worms anyway I would still genuinely date that kind of person if they weren't an asshole and if they were gay/bi since I'm a trans guy and body positive enough to respect my gender while simultaneously appreciating my anime quality titties

You know me though I'm kinda going for that Look since I find it cute (especially highkey Lucilia) and I'm thinking of going in hard next anime con with the whole ensemble except overtly presenting my identity with like my trans and pronoun buttons and pride wristbands and anything else I have like that!

imma be fully honest while i dont think bakugou and midoriya would be a good or healthy relationship at their current state in bnha itself, i do think that if what you really care about is writing them (mostly bakugou lbr) through that growth and through that change into a state in which they can be in a healthy, happy relationship, then thats fine. i think its ok to ship them in aus, i think it’s okay to put them thru growth and ship them.

if ur gonna fetishize the relationship they have rn, though, or shove them into a relationship ignoring the fucked up shit going on w their dynamic, thats shitty? but i understand wanting to see them (again, largely bakugou) grow into better people and create a healthy relationship.

like tbh i dont think its all that different from something like vrisrezi? the difference is that while we were able to actively watch vriska and terezi grow into people who could form a better relationship than the one they had as kids, it’s p clear that bakugou is still pretty much in that childish state where he hates midoriya. i think its okay to interpret that as denial! i think its okay for them to have had a fucked up start to their friendship! but i think that if you want them to be friends again, or to ever be in a relationship in the terms that canon has given us, they need to experience growth.
