russefeiring
oof flashbacks 😅
there's so much related to this aspect of norwegian culture I don't even know where to start. Everyone has russekort (russ-cards) where you write jokes on and have a picture of yourself that you give out to young kids who collect them. You're supposed to wear the same red clothing all 17 days, no matter how much vomit, dirt and alcohol you end up spilling on it. You iron on letter or logo's of companies that might give you a discount there. All your friends write on it - get it as messy as possible. Some will do really cool (or dirty) paintings on the back of the outfits. You have a set of tasks (russeknuter/russ-knots) that you try to compltet throughout the period, and as a result you get the right to tie different stuff to the string of your cap (not in picture): for example a golden popsickle stick if you've bathed outside before 1. april, small scissors if' you've had a drunk friend give you a haircut, etc. There's partying almost every day if you want to - no one cares that you show up to classes hungover or slightly drunk the next day.
It's... something
