still very slowly rewatching black sails (keeping pace with my dad on his first watch) and I fucking love how you don't really get to know most of the characters until over halfway through season two. Like, arguably, S2E6 and S2E7 are the first time you really get to see the "true" versions of so many characters. Anne, Billy, Dusfrene, Hornigold, Silver, debatably even Max... Like, sure, you know who they are, but there's such major parts of their characters that are hidden until these couple of episodes. (And yes, Billy and Dusfrene both underwent things in/after S1 that majorly changed their outlook and characterization, but the point still stands that it takes until now to really get down to the meat of their characters.)
