Y’know I never thought I’d learn something in watching Castlevania. I didn’t know that historically christians had a nasty habit of brutally murdering and hating philosophers. (Just did a little googling there to confirm). I’d heard of scientists yes as well as being the wrong religion/just wrong stripe of christianity but for some reason philosophy escaped me. I mean it absolutely makes sense especially given how Christianity acted once it got power until... well not that long ago or even still now in some places. Still. I feel a little daft honestly for not knowing sooner.

Today while doing a Study of Religion assignment with one of the students I tutor, I managed to teach them all about the Catholic doctrines of 'life begins at conception' and 'contraception is contrary to the will of God'...by showing them the Monty Python skit 'Every Sperm is Sacred' and discussing the lyrics. I have no idea how I'm still hired.
