it’s weird playing a bottom when usually the characters i play are dominant or tops. like what do you MEAN they’re shy and can’t take charge without the other person directing them. good lord above, help them.

Misrepresentation
I have been rereading the PJO series over the last few days and one thing that has become painfully apparent to me if how much this fandom misrepresents Percy. One look into the fandom and a person would assume Percy is a happy go lucky kind of guy who is perhaps a little too confident in his abilities and is always ready with a chill comeback. Wrong, wrong and wrong!
Right from the first book we are shown just how messed up Percy Jackson is as a person. He has grown up with disabilities that have always held him back and encountered weird stuff that has never been explained to him. He’s been kept in the dark his whole life. He lashes out in anger (Like he did at Nancy Bobofit in the first couple of pages) not sassy comebacks, and is constantly doubting himself.
The first sentence of the book is ‘Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood’. This life isn’t cool for Percy, but he’s been stuck with it. Yet despite this he has to become the main hero of a prophecy, lead an entire hide civilisation, constantly loose friends and family to death and constantly put his own life at risk. He is plagued by nightmares and guilt constantly and yeah, he has a temper. He enjoys his life at times too, having fun at camp and it being his favourite place in the world. Why? Because he and his friends are safe there. If Percy had a choice he would definitely make him and his friends normal humans who didn’t have to deal with monsters all the time.
So I think it’s time we stop portraying Percy as arrogant and easy-going, because he is not. His whole character can be compared to the sea honestly. It’s never always happy and is rough more times than it isn’t.
So in Starlight, Taylor was 17 in 1945, and now it’s 1950 so that means Taylor is 22
