I think another thing that gets me about TME/TMA is that it's just so.... redundant. Like if TMA literally just means "Trans women and transfems" then guess what. You can just put in your bio "Trans woman" or "Transfem", and everyone who doesn't have their head up their ass should be able to read that and say "Oh, that means they're the primary target of transmisogyny" because, well, duh!! There's legit no reason to have such a bottle-neck defined acronym in your bio when just using actual, full words would do the job. It's just so redundant.
#Jean rambles#Anti TME/TMA#I feel like it's just a way to water down people's critical thinking#Because note how I say that these groups/demographics are the PRIMARY target#This is because they are not the sole victims of it#Plenty of other trans people and even cis people are victimized by it#It takes a lot more brain power to understand the complexities of that though#While a simple acronym of “Is affected by this” vs “Is exempt from this” makes it nice and digestible#You don't have to think about how grossly widespread it is to everyone#You don't have to face the harsh reality that we all face varying levels of the same shit#The rot is not just in the walls#It is in the pipes and the foundation and the insulation and on the windows and-#It's everywhere!!!!#And we all live in the same house!!#So yes actually the rot does affect all of hs#*us#You just might be an unfortunate person whose room is directly next to the rot#While someone else may be only partially exposed to the rot#But the rot is still there#And it's going to cause the house to fall down on us eventually
