Has anyone else been getting a ridiculous number of ads on YouTube lately?
I watch on my PS4 (it's really the only thing I have rn so no AdBlock for me) and I've just gotten used to them being mildly annoying but today??
I timed it, Mark's Mavis Beacon vid had 2 (usually unskipable) ads every 1.5 minutes
Sean's and a few other people I watch had similar amounts, though Sean's at least were every 3 minutes (woohoo 🙄) and it was one 6sec ad...the same one...over and over and over. I made it through Mark's video but after that I couldn't get through Sean's
okay so i uhh havent been great about staying on top for writing more of this and uh. regarding this bit: there’s more i wanna write for it but i feel bad about not outputting more stuff so have this fragment. bit of context: this takes place after the first bit i posted and some stuff happened between fuyuhiko leaving home and this particular incident happening? but i havent gotten that cemented in my head yet. so by now peko’s kind of his bodyguard and they have gotten closer over time (i wish i could do that statement justice but i digress) BUT ANYWAYS it’s under the read more
It was the telltale thrum of a tripped alarm spell that alerted Fuyuhiko to trespassers in his... Well. There was no real way to describe his home as anything other than a drastically redecorated cave. He’d had nothing to do with that, he’d found it as it was. Turns out, some other necromancer had settled down there years ago and decided to use his undead minions to carve out a lair, rather than wreak havoc. There was the central “room” with others attached to it via short tunnels.
Fuyuhiko was shaken from his idle thoughts by the sounds of the approaching group; the telltale clanking of armor and bit of idle chatter. He straightened his posture as the four travelers entered the room.
“Okay, who are you people and why are you in my damn home?” Fuyuhiko asked, surveying the intruding party from what was honestly the most cliche throne a necromancer could have: one made of actual human bones. It wasn’t his, exactly; it belonged to the previous owner. It was somehow stuck to the ground so really, making use of it was better than trying to get rid of it.
One of the four party members, a man decked in the armor of a paladin, barked out a laugh before answering. “To bring you down, of course.” The other three, one dressed in the white robes of a healer, another carrying a bow with a quiver on their back, the third wearing a dark hood, seemed more than content with him taking the initiative in this conversation.
Fuyuhiko pinched the bridge of his nose, irritation creeping into his voice as he asked “You do realize I’m not evil, right? I’m not plotting to take over the goddamn country or anything.” This kind of situation had happened before, where people heard rumors of a necromancer lurking near this particular town, and thought it’d be a good idea to track him down and try to kill him. More often than not, they were talked down or chased off.
“We’re fully aware of that. But your parents don’t care,” replied the paladin, and Fuyuhiko could just hear the smug grin in his voice as a chill ran down his spine. From the corner of his vision, he saw Peko reaching for her sword.
He stood, took a few steps closer, his fists clenching and unclenching. “Okay. Great. Fucking fantastic. Explain what the hell you mean.”
The paladin snorted. “Oh, please. Did you really think word wouldn’t spread when a necromancer resembling the missing Kuzuryuu family heir started showing up in backwater towns? Did you think your parents wouldn’t get some awkward questions from concerned citizens and want this “problem” dealt with?”
With every word, Fuyuhiko felt a growing sense of anger and panic. His eyes swept over the group of three and-- Wait. There had been four. He froze, retreating back a few steps. “Where. There were four of you, where the fuck’s the missing one?!” Fuyuhiko knew his panic had crept into his voice, but he didn’t care, too busy trying to recall what the missing adventurer looked like.
The paladin seemed a little surprised that Fuyuhiko had even noticed, trying to stumble his words into a distraction that went unheeded. The blowhard’s still here. So’s their cleric and... I guess that’s a ranger, going off the bow, Fuyuhiko thought. And then it hit him: It was the rogue that was missing.
The instant he realized that, he expected to feel the cold steel of a dagger pressed against his throat. But it didn’t come. Or, at least, not to him. It was Peko that felt the dagger’s edge.
The party’s rogue broke out of invisibility as they slit her throat before dashing back to the safety of the group.
Their retreat was barely noticed as Fuyuhiko rushed to Peko, barely managing to catch her as she fell to her knees, blood flowing from the gash. She looked almost confused, mouth open but unable to say anything as she weakly pressed her hands against her throat, trying to stem the flow.
Blood loss being what it is, she slipped into unconsciousness within a minute, but every second felt like an eternity to Fuyuhiko as tears fell and he tried to apologize, the words getting stuck in his throat as he saw the life fading from her body, like a light dimming out. One of the “perks” of necromancy.
I hate how every adult I knew well in my life would tell me about a time they regret and wish they could return to so strongly and I thought I'd never be like that and I'd be careful and I'd value and cherish the best things in my life and then just like that it was over for me too and every day all the time I just wish I could go back to that time before I lost it all
i am very excited about the power of the dog because i love westerns and i really like jane campion however benedict cumberbatch while i'm sure an entirely competent actor is just so out of place in montana. he has a face that knows about eton in the same way that ben affleck has a face that knows about emails.
