Have you ever seen a Pokemon so beautiful that you started crying? I certainly did. After numerous Absol raid battles, I finally got a shiny! Getting a shiny Absol made up for the three (offensively-named) spoofers that joined the raid right at the last second.

—– relationship prompt, levels four - six  (  784 words ) 

       LEVEL FOUR: poe unsurprinsgly has several coping mechanisms to deal with his … well, issues. the main one is humor, and it can be a terrible thing. he turns toward creating jokes or coming off as someone that isn’t that serious at all, when he’s in the most dead serious of situations. the humor covers his nerves, and the banter he usually spews is something he literally has no control over. he can’t stop talking when nervous, and digs himself some fairly deep holes.

         he reflects a lot of bad off of himself if he can, tending to try and get it to roll off his shoulders, and in the end, it only makes him come out looking like an ass at times. he really does try to work on it, but he doesn’t know how to effectively handle anything terrible anymore other than what he’s been doing for years. if he can’t be witty about it, he’ll sour and turn in on himself and stew over things for days at a time, creating rifts.

         past relationships generally haven’t really influenced his mechanisms, not entirely. the death of his parents is what actually created it in the first place, and he just hasn’t stopped since. dating people is just … something he does when he has the time or if there’s someone that catches his eye. though on a few occasions he’s certainly had the influence of one or two that just sort of made that sarcasm so much worse since they ripped him wide open about that particular mechanism.

         even so, when those relationships ended, he didn’t exactly skulk about. he usually never does, because he understands people grow out of things, and will try his damnedest to make sure things don’t go sour between him and an ex. if anything, he at least wants them to remain civil toward each other if they can be.

       LEVEL FIVE: poe has issues with communication at points. there are times where he’s very open and very much happy to talk about things, but then there are times where he clams up tighter than a waterproof seal and he doesn’t say a thing about what is bothering him or what could be a potential issue in the future. though most of the time, he tries to be open about it, laying everything out that he can. unless it involves a lot of feelings. once there are a phenomenal amount of feelings is where you get him sealing up and not wanting to say a word, because he gets an ever persistent anxiety about it.

         but he can communicate through touch at that point. soft touches, gentle fingers in hair, or worried glances are his way of communication with far too many motions. in that case, his actions will speak a hell of a lot more than his words. volumes.

         it isn’t that he means to but it’s just something that happens, due to an ever persistent fear that he could potentially just … not be enough. it’s a rough subject for him, and while he loves hard and loves deep, he’s also spooked at times about the depth of his love.

       LEVEL SIX: that being said, marriage is actually a goal he actively works toward. he’s definitely not a commitment-phobe, and carries his mother’s ring on a necklace that he always wears for a reason. it will be given to the right partner at the right time.

         he’s spent a lot of time actively planning it in his head, but it’s always with a faceless partner since he doesn’t know who it will be. he just knows he wants marriage, and wants it to be a very happy marriage. certainly he doesn’t fantasize about the un-achievable: he knows that the perfect marriage won’t always be content and happy. there will be bumps along the road and things will happen. this is just how life is, but he still wants it regardless.

         he wants to at least be a good husband, which is why he tends to try and work on himself for the more serious relationships he has. he actively attempts to be better at some of his worst habits and tries his damnedest to just get himself to be marriage material. for some reason, he places an impossibly high pedestal for himself with marriage: he wants t be perfect for his partner in every way. yet at the same time, he will keep the bar low for his significant other because to him, they should be just the way they are so long as they work with him when things get rough and they can get through it together.

—– relationship prompt, levels one - three.  (  835 words )

        level one: concerning relationships, poe is .. well. he handles them and he doesn’t handle them. contradictory, but he’s had a lot happen in his life, with the death of his parents, with being in the resistance. a lot has pretty much gone down with him, so he’s .. surprisingly well put together for any sort of relationship. familial, platonic, romantic, you name it.

        both of his parents died when he was young. he was 8 years old when he was orphaned entirely, so his familial bonds are forged from the fires of how close he’s gotten to everyone over the years, rather than actual blood-related relationships. the closest person to him though – unsurprisingly – is one general leia organa. she took him under her wing when he was young, raising him along with her own son. she was there for him, despite how off the rails he went in his teenage years. coming back into the resistance from his stint being ‘rogue’ in his earlier years, she welcomed him with open arms. something he would never forget, and never plans to forget.

        non-family platonic relationships are literally just all of his friendships at this point. he has no one closer than the other, but really if he has to pick, the closest on that ranges on platonic isrey. the two of them have a lot in common, and while it’s platonic right now, it could shift or change, depending. but he’s close to her, finds great friendship in her, the same as finn ( but oh how he nurses such a massive crush for finn oh boy ). having his friends and the fact that leia took him in when he was young has allowed him to see the world in a view of someone who grew up extremely loved and cared for.

         though sometimes he tends to blur the lines with his platonic friendships, borderline flirting and trying to romance them just because it’s how he can be.  

         poe will always, absolutely, dive head first into what things could be like. he’s always been a little reckless and far more daredevil-esque than he ever should be. it really does borderlineentirely reckless at points, but it bleeds in and influences how he treats relationships. he’s not one to take things slow, because he’s frightened deep down that it could stagnate. turn into something sour that could slip through his fingers.

        level two: really if you want poe to consider you as something more than platonic, take a walk in his proverbial shoes and see where he comes from. see what he’s been through. don’t treat him as anything but an equal. he loves finding those that are passionate as he is, it’s something that is very attractive to him. seeing passion and emotion, something that just lights up the room that someone walks into. emotions are the flame to the moth that is poe.

        disqualifying personality traits generally borderline on the ones that show they have no heart or care for anyone. even if it’s something like a charade, he will find himself turning away from the possibility of romance if it goes on too long. show him kindness, small touches, soft touches, or just the attention he yearns and craves for, and you’ll have him hook, line, and sinker. show you have no care at all for too long and you’ll have him turning away from you and leaving you behind depending on the circumstances. he’ll still be there, but his emotions won’t come into play, because he doesn’t like pining or being one-sided.

        level three: poe is an open book. though he can be sarcastic and witty, firing off banter faster than he takes shots in his x-wing, he can and does have a level of trust that has to be earned. it’s something very … subtle, when you know you’ve earned it. something as simple as a pat on the shoulder, hugs, or anything remotely touching. anything physical shows he trusts you because as much as he flirts, as much as he likes to make people swoon, he never does touch them unless a certain level of trust is established.

        once a relationship is established, or anything remotely romantic, you’ll see him blossom and open up. he goes from being a cocky and loudmouthed pilot to someone a little more subtle and calm. of course, he’s still going to be cocky and loud, but in private or near someone he likes, you’ll find him gently leaning against you, offering warmer smiles and laughs. hands on the shoulder, on the lower back, softer touches that allow him to bask in the person he feels for the most. of course, he can and does give pet names but if someone doesn’t like them, he’ll gladly pull them back.

        giving him a pet name though will generate a rather amusing reaction. he’ll be rather shocked and sort of find a flutter in his chest and a goofy grin on his lips.

𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑 :               mermaids,    easily     infatuated     by     love,     smelling     flowers,          picnics     in     open     fields,     gets     sad     when     thinking     about     the     past,     impressed     easily,     daydreaming     in     class,    plucking     fresh     fruit,     loves     fashion,     would     die     for     their     friends.

𝐋𝐄𝐎 :         confident     in     what     they     do,         kill     them     with     kindness,     high     ponytails,     probably     wants     to     visit     paris     once,     not     afraid     to     tell     the     truth,     in     love     with     cute     animals,     the     one     to     lift     others     up,     good     at     teamwork,     the     warm     feeling     of     summer,    dragons.

𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐆𝐎 :               pastel     markers,         the     smell     of     lavender,     has     a     welcoming     vibe     around     them,    actually     organized,     scrunchies,         neat     notes,     loves     going     to     museums,     probably     into     photography,    neutral     colors,   handwritten     letters,    stardust.
