yes and no??? she does have fire aspects and stuff, but also, every dragon i've heard about or met has something to do with water.

like how the dragon palaces are underwater, and most of them control the weather.

(or used to, i guess.. now that we have the weather station. unless.... do dragons run the weather station?)

there's actually multiple chapters in journey to the west where dragons are connected more to water than fire. apparently ao lie has some sort of surface tension power.

also, monkey king got his staff from ao guang, underwater!

I'm officially done with the original Azrael (1995) series! It does continue after issue 46 as Azrael: Agent of the Bat but we'll get there when we get there.

Overall thoughts: I love this series!! I have a couple problems with it - I wish Lilhy wasn't veering back toward the Order by the end, I wish that the al Ghul plotline(s) had gone a little differently (not sure how I would change them, I just know that I would), I wish that there had been some better follow-up on Shondra Kinsolving's brief appearance - but overall this is a really fun series!! Jean Paul is always a delight, Lilhy was honestly one of my favorite characters in the series, Brian was a little more grounded than his companions & I think he made a good foil for JPV & Lilhy. Bruce's occasional appearances were decent, not my favorite but I do appreciate his sense of responsibility for JPV, and Barbara's dynamic with JPV is always fun to witness. The series balances humor with some really epic moments, and the art. Oh my gosh, the art!! So many cool action scenes, so much beautifully drawn fire, JPV's big sad wet cat eyes, it's all so gorgeous.

Great series, highly recommend it :)

It's star wars ttrpg time yeeey!! (yes i am currently playing three campaigns and i will do these for all of them. Gotta come up with better names for them though.)

We start our story on the smuggler's room of Naar Shaadar (and with an amazing title crawl courtesy of our gm), with a pod rocing event going on. First character introduced is Kris Sunblazer, a human pilot here to join the race. He found himself an acquaintance in another racer and together they had a look around the place. They found a fighting pit, where they encountered our second player: a very tall and buff Mirialan named Enyyo “Aria” Orkaria, who beat the shit out of her opponent very quickly and thus won Kris some money. She returned from the ring and had a conversation with the two pilots, ruthlessly cutting the NPC down to size for judging her opponent.

We cut to a Chiss woman, Ilaras, at the outskirts of the party, staring down the image of what is clearly a bounty she is aiming for. She sees the weird group sitting at the table and immediately turns around to go search somewhere else. She eventually spots her prey, but she also spots a very strange alien somewhere close by who seems to also be keeping an eye on the group her prey is part of. His name is Simo Klink, and he is a Melitto (and my guy!), here to keep an eye on a guy (Rharo Zapal) who is likely an Imperial Security Informant. Simo notes she is not here for his target and decides not to interfer, though prepares to follow if his target gets spooked. Ilaras meanwhile manages to get closer to her own target, but before she can use her blaster to thouroughly convince him to come along, Rharo makes her deal: she waits for a few minutes until he has what he needs, and the she can have what is left of him afterwards, he will be "physically fine". She agrees, and the two NPCs leave into a little side room. Simo watches the interaction with suspicion.

Cut again to outside, a human mandalorian, Tay'Haii, arriving with some compatriots. They spot the group still sitting at the table, by now somehwat more jovial, and Tay'Haii's friend gets very excited seeing Kris, a fairly successful podracer and recieves an autograph.

Until suddenly! An explosion outside rocks the ground and there is noise of shooting! Simo spots Imperial Ships landing outside while Kris tries to yeet himself through the door and to find out what happened and help people. Before he can however, there are already Stormtroopers in the room, demanding everyone line up on the wall. After a few moments one of the Stormtroopers can be heard talking to a superior including the words: "No, they're not here." and "Scorched Earth? Understood." Upon which we got our first combat as everone drew their weapons!

Throughout the course of combat, two of the three guys got knocked out by Aria, and Simo slit the third guy's throat. When everyone was down, Ilaras moved to kill the other two, and Kris intervened, offering everyone a place to hide but asking them not to kill the other storm troopers. Simo meanwhile had to realize that his target fled in the confusion, and he started searching the guy's table where he found, stuck under the table, a recording device, which he quietly pocketed. Aria in the meantime already killed one of the Stormtroopers, and eventually Kris was persuaded to come along and not run in direction of the pits where there are likely more Stormtroopers and instead to come along and try to leave the planet. On the way out we spotted the ruling Hutt, an imperial Officer, and a wanted poster of a to us not familiar Zabrak individual. We kept fleeing up the stairs, barracading the way behind us to keep off the Stormtrooper for a while. We eventually reached the hangar and found a single functional ship, along with a few knocked out Stormtroopers. Kris, Aria and Tay'Haii ran to start up the ship, Simo ran off to get the ray shields down, Ilaris after to support him. While Simo worked on the rayshields, more Stormtroopers entered, which immediately collapsed, to which Simo commented "I think we found the guy from the posters" and indeed the Zabrak appeared. A quick alliance of convenience was formed (with the bounty hunter cursing her luck for not being able to collect on that bounty) and with the ray shields down, all three entered the ship and Kris expertly piloted the ship out of the hanger.

Aria and Tay'Haii were in the meantime going through the bag they found on the ship and found a set of Jedi robes in there, which caused Aria an existial crisis and Taay'haii some excitement. The confrontation with Rusao, the Zabrak, was very awkward, and he immediately called out Aria for her bullshit trying to pretend she didn't recognize the robes. Some admissions were made, in which Tay'Haii admitted he used to be a Jedi Padawan and survived the massacre.

Meanwhile Simo cracked the recording device (extremely smoothly I might add) and learned that the Imperial Agent he was tracking is flying a ship called The Dark Moon.

Rusao made the group an offer to introduce us to a group of Rebels who will protect us from the attention of Empire for our actions on the Nal Shadaar (and get the bounty hunter some credits). Through some arguing from Aria who really, really did not want to be here, we eventually settled to at least go to Taris with him. Which is were we ended the session.

Join us next time when we meet some rebels, Aria might bite and probably will punch someone, Ilaras wants some money, Tay'Haii is conflicted about Rusao, Simo needs to track his target, and Kris is really just happy to be here. Except for how he's mad that he couldn't take his pod racer. And can't drive the Grand Prix.
