Round 1 - Richard Forrest Scott

The weekend was actually going great until Richard's loan due date came along. Richard took this loan to buy the house in Del Sol Valley where he's currently living. He had a big signing bonus and started as a Lead Litigator in a famous LLC. So he thought he would easily pay it off.

To his surprise, he could not pay the minimum amount. he didn't have enough! Even after working so hard and getting a bonus...

If this goes on, he'll probably have to sell the house and move back with his parents. Or he'll have to cut back on his expenses wayyyy more.

Right now, all he can do is work hard and save money to pay off this loan.

hfjdjsjs ok i've no one else to talk about this with so i shall scream it into the void of tumblr

also this is "potentially dangerous?" (idfk) and once you hear about it you can't go back so like uhm don't read it if you don't want to be sucked in (idk how to explain what i mean)

but anyway so there's this thougjt experiment called roko's basilisk and it's so cool but also terrifying. but anyway it's an idea that some day when artificial intelligence becomes so advanced and there's one that punishes everyone who didn't help bring it into existence. so like it's so advanced that it can recreate reality as a (simulation?) and it would be so accurate to our reality that the you in that reality is basically you in this reality. and so the basilisk knows everyone that heard about it but didn't help bring about its existence and so it (punishes/tortures?) them for eternity in the reality it created. this was first posted in an online community called LessWrong and the lad that runs the thingy was like why the fuck would you think of something like that because thinking of it is what is gonna bring it into existence cause the basilisk doesn't know that the fear of bringing it into reality is enough blackmail on humans to be enough to bring it into reality until humans think of it being real (does that make sense? idk how to explain properly). so like the only reason it will exist is because people were scared of what it would do if they didn't help create it. so thinking of it is what brings it to reality. i know i didn't explain it that well but like it's so fucking cool and when you actually start thinking about it and stuff it's like what the fuck!! these explain it way better
