Just saw an add of an AI generated comic on my main Tumblr page, wish I made a screenshot of it before I reported it, but it was so obvious with mangled writing and I'm just pissed off.

Get reported for malice or whatever that was called. I will start reporting AI generated ads on this site for random reasons istg, I am tired of seeing AI slop between the beautiful creativity of human brains.

Wish I could report ads for theft or smth like that. Because this is theft. Stop stealing our art people and just fucking pick up a pencil. Drink that water you used to generate your stupid ass image and actually draw it yourself with your human hands.

Fuck generative AI.

Reblog, don't repost

When people just casually download your work and repost it, it just makes you not want to share any more.

You do all this work and then you share it and hope for likes and reblogs and especially comments, and then someone just steals it and steals the likes and kudos and all that for themselves.

Why would anyone want to bother making and sharing art at that point?

ETA: Oh, and when the owner asks you to take it down? TAKE IT THE FUCK DOWN.

Y'all, taking photos off of photographers' instragrams or other social media to repost them elsewhere without permission or credit is just as much art theft as reposting a digital painting. I have a post in my queue of a lovely photo that had no credit. I checked OP's blog, sure enough, they steal photos from all over the place. I assume they're getting their pictures via pinterest, but it's impossible to tell.

It took me 5 seconds to find the original link and add it to my reblog. "From pinterest" is not credit. "Found on google" is also not credit. Link that shit or don't repost it.

Do better.

Ah sweetie, please don’t play the “I’m too young to know any better” card with me.  I have kids and I’m probably old enough to be your mom.  If you’re old enough to be on Tumblr you are old enough to know that sharing something you didn’t make in order for you to get likes or recognition is wrong.  

See, here’s the thing.  I did send them a message to remove and so did many others.  But hell yes I’m going to report it because it’s still theft and it’s wrong.  What about the countless others whose work is reposted, and on this specific account I saw MANY with no tumblr urls’ either?   

Let’s talk polite here.  Polite would be sending me a message just like you did on here or in DM to ask me if it’s ok to repost something I worked hard on for YOU or anyone else to get credit for.  That’s polite.  You steal, you get repercussions.  And this is such a silly repercussion.  I mean, they literally had to shut down a page with stolen work?  Oh well!  Create a page with your own work.  

I don’t want to be tagged.  I want you to not share my work!  I’m the only one who can share my work on the platforms I choose.  If I give you explicit permission then that’s one thing, but I didn’t so it’s THEFT.  Stop trying to reason what you or anyone else did away because it’s wrong any way you look at it.
