Actually, now that I’m thinking about it…

… The ‘there’s still good in Vergil’ theme was done really well. Like, I feel like there’s this expectation of clichés and just… I dunno. A lack of subtlety, esp in games like that, but they did it very well.

#Firebird Randomness #DMC #as in the original not the reboot #as nice as that Vergil's coat is… don't care for the game #but listen dmc5 my dudes #it's not a 'he has a kid now so he's gonna be good'#like for one thing man's still fucked up #but like #yes Nero is very subtly but clearly a factor in Vergil's shift #but he's not 'why' there's still good in him Nero doesn't 'cause it' or whatever #it's just still there still clinging on #It's V #like I could go on a whole psychology thing #the one place where id and ego apply #I think V was more Vergil than Urizen was #but like if Vergil were a total sociopath his human half wouldn't have cared either?#but like the good the decency is THERE it's just getting repressed and swallowed by all the pain and anger #and Nero's part in it is being a catalyst and shifting the scales #there's still good in Vergil bc there's good in Vergil not just bc he had a kid #and while finding out about that kid doesn't immediately change him…#esp w/ Nero playing the sensible card is opens the chance of Vergil being willing/wanting to learn how to do better for Nero #not to forget Dante in all of this but my analysis of Vergil's feelings for Dante is not for the tags #I mean tbh part of the reason there is still good in Vergil is BC of Dante #but they both needed Nero as a catalyst bc Dante was tired and Vergil does not know how to descalate #neither of them do but I'm pointing the finger at Vergil bc he's worse #anyway so now we learn I have a thing for tortured ant hero dads in nice clothes who carry katanas #and have complex relationships w/ a more emotional and passionate character… ^^;#DMC/01 crossover anyone? XD
