The first time was after he was meant to meet her son. It was the first meeting and Bob had been nervous. Showing up a half hour late trying to buy something nice for him. He knew buying his way into his life wasn't the right way to go, but it he felt it was a nice gesture anyway. Something had...happened before he arrived. Alex was more than upset when he found her. Not speaking of what it was, but broken down never the less. Bob had held her, gently touching the top of her head with his lips. "It'll be ok. Don't worry."
The second kiss wasn't even a thing. New Years always had kisses. It wasn't anything new for anyone who knew how it celebrated here. Bob didn't really have anywhere to go, and had more or less invited himself. Along with dropping a few subtle hints to Alex. And outright asking her to come. The clock had struck midnight, and had reached for the first willing person around. Zach of course was closest, he had been moving everywhere. Getting a quick peck on the mouth and a loud 'Happy New Year'. But Bob wasn't one to leave others ignored. Going for more first of the year kisses. Alex's lingering just the tiniest fraction of a second. He pulls away and pats her on the shoulder. "Happy New Year."
The third time it was a fluke. Nothing more, nothing less. She was in denial about being sick. She was busy, she didn't have time to be sick. Bob had set about to prove her wrong. "Your face is getting red, you have a fever," it was a statement. One he intended to prove. Pressing his lips to her forhead, moving away from her with a small kiss just his mother used to. "See? You're burning up. And even redder than before."
The fourth time, it was a cold winter day. January had been unforgiving so far, and the wind was starting to nip at her exposed face. Rubbing her mits to keep her nose from turning black and falling off her face. Bob could have swore she mumbled a complaint to herself. "I can help with that," he had offered, smooshing her face like a fish and laughing at the goofy look. Getting his hand smacked away with a grin and mock anger. "I can though," he insisted, kissing her on the mouth, unti he could feel her lips warm slightly. "Uh..see? I-uh...told you I could help."
The fifth time...he can't say what took over. Zack had been busy, so they decided to do something fun that day. Something to give her a break from work. Come back with fresh perspective. Help her get ideas where she currently had none. Either way, it had been an entertaining evening. They had decided to part ways in the parking lot, while looking for each of their respective means of transport home. "I'll see you then," he leaned down to her, kissing her full on the mouth before he even knew what he was doing. It isn't a short kiss. Still, he pulls from her as casual as the day is long. Smile never faultering before he ducks into the cab door and rides off.
