man i get that this professor wants to pronounce people's names right but do i look like i know how to spell anything phonetically. i dont.

#look its very simple. first of all you understand wade giles romanization. then you just pronounce my name.#tempted to just be like. look just say it however. if you understand pinyin i can give it to you in pinyin. i dont care. it doesnt matter.#im not expecting anything and this class is asynchronous. its okay.#like there is no concise way to say 'well ive been using a ch sound since its easiest but its technically a zh or even a jh sound. have at #it.'

How do you finish/prime wood if there is a sketch on it..?

I have sanded down a skateboard and am going to sketch a mandala style piece onto it. The sketch will be in either pencil or pen. Im wondering whether (on top of this freshly-sanded wood) I should use linseed oil or a varnish on top to prime it first? (I want to retain a light wood colour) or coat it after? or both? or neither?

I'm worried if I did it after, the drawing would be ruined, but if I don't do it at all, the drawing would smudge.. any ideas??
