A mixture of snow and ice pelted the ground, covering the toddler. He wasn’t dressed for the weather at all, that much was obvious from a simple glance, and he shook and sniffled, fear beginning to fill him as he hurried along. He hadn’t seen this place before. Last he remembered, he was snuggled into bed with his older brother, safe and warm, but when he woke, that was not the case.

A small “oomph!” escaped his lips as he found himself running into someone in his panic, eyes widened as he fell to the ground. Flinching, he shoved himself  up quickly, instinctively flinching away from the older man, arms raised defensively. “S-s-sorry…” he mumbled.
