opening from Vita Sfortiae by paolo giovo, printed by roman printer antonio blado, 1539: set in blado’s larger second italic. in 1923 monotype used the Vita Sfortiae as basis for their recutting of this italic typeface aptly named «blado»  [english monotype 119]—vide ‹is a rose a Rose?›.
