Hey! I have a question since I saw that you've seen Matt and Dom up close and seen their friendship. A lot of haters say that they stopped being friends after that incident in November, so since you saw their friendship, do you think that this is just bullshit and that it survived, do you think it changed? I love them so much and I loved their friendship, but we don't see any of that anymore. Thank you!

Huh, another con-related question - and a loaded one in this fandom. But hey, let’s just step right into the cesspool…

Obviously I have no inside knowledge about the state of Dom & Matt’s friendship after ItaCon, but I do have opinions based on how I’ve seen them interact and talk about each other. In short: of course they’re still friends. We just don’t get to see it anymore because of the incident in November, after which their public interactions have been severely curtailed. As for the incident: Dom should not have said it, no doubt about it. However, I think Matt & Dom share a real friendship, one that is strong enough to survive such an incident. 

I mean, I’m friends with good people who’ve made bad mistakes - hell, I’ve made bad mistakes - but most of us are able to make those mistakes in private. Just because Dom’s lapse in judgement was caught on camera doesn’t mean Matt would treat it differently than if it had happened in private - i.e. something to talk over, learn from, and then move on. (I happen to think that Matt’s horrified reaction was mostly due to the fact that Dom’s comment was caught on film, forcing him into immediate damage control/spokesperson mode, which is a role he often plays. Matt’s the politician, the diplomat, which can’t be fun because you can never make this fandom happy.)

Well, like I said, it’s all speculation, but I’m fairly confident my impression will be confirmed at the next ItaCon, because seriously, those two get each other, and I can’t wait to bask in their friendship again.

Hey! I love your blog and I read several of your fics and I love them as well. I have a question about the Italian Institute from last year. You mentioned that Dom had some parabatai AUs (or something like that) and that your friend would write more about that (I can't remember their @ right now), but they haven't done so since and it seems like their Tumblr is slightly dead. Would you be willing to share something about those AUs and ideas with us if you still remember them? Thanks in advance!

Okay, so I hounded @rebelqueenss, who wants you to know that she’s a horrible procrastinator. *g* She really wanted to write up both Dom’s and Matt’s M&Gs from last years’s ItaCon in great detail, but then she put too much pressure on herself and ended up getting some hate for the bits she did post. So yeah, that’s why those detailed reports never happened. Believe me, this year we’ll be better organised! :)

Anyway, Dom’s Jalec AU came about after someone asked about him wanting to kiss Matt, to which he said that he’d actually kissed him hello that very morning after arriving at the con. This then segued into a conversation about how things would have been so much easier if Jace & Alec were together.

While @rebelqueenss agreed (naturally), she reminded Dom that there’d still be problems because of the parabatai taboo. He then said that in his mind, Jace should have realised he had feelings for Alec before the parabatai ceremony. He would then have put a stop to it, and they would have continued on as lovers instead of parabatai.

So that’s Dom’s canon divergence Jalec AU. :)

Itacon 2 was the best weekend of my life, this cast is so sweet and kind its unreal. They really care so much for the fans and everything we do. They see how much our show means to us and what we do for them. I cant express with words enough how lucky we are to have such amazing cast and we (and the cast) deserve more seasons. So please #Saveshadowhunters

Are you going to the Italian Institute this year?

Yes, absolutely. The whole shebang - pretty much everything Sherdario except the Matt M&G, which was sold out. (Don’t ask me how money I’m spending. *hides*)  

It’ll be a group of us from @jalecsquad, so that’ll be extra nice!
