37. Our muses are destined to do jail time together

Gosh, he had no idea how he had wound up here in the first place.

Noon was always an awkward time for Claude. Especially when he was in a different area, because he was slow to grasp new concepts. His feet would lose themselves in old, familiar patterns. Unfit for a "SHSL Manservant" who should be quick to adapt. Spending his years in the same setting really took a toll on his mind. 

Itaki hated how he couldn't figure his way around things, and on one afternoon where Claude was having a particularly hard time maneuvering around the tables she decided it would be best to set up an obstacle or two hoping that it would help him figure it out. 

The fake lights caught his eye and he ended up (ironically enough) tripping on the no hazard sign. That in itself was nothing but a fumble, but a bear who had half emerged from the floor stood silently, but reddening fast. Instantly his skills as a servant began, and he apologized immensely for the accident. If there was anything he could do, he would do it! The bear, however, was not buying it and simply yelled threats at him. Itaki who was in shock and feeling guilt ran over and insisted it was her fault, and that Claude shouldn't be punished. 

For a moment, the bear seemed to turn off. Claude awkwardly shrinked away as Itaki leaned in to poke it. When her finger almost made contact the bear snapped away and told them they would be spending the next 12 hours in the jail! That's an order! Violently they were grabbed and pulled to the floor, where two Monobears brought them to the mall jail. 

2 hours they sat there in silence, unsure of what to say. Itaki who believed that maybe apologizing would be for the best, opened her mouth to speak when Claude began giggling. She raised an eyebrow and loosened her jaw. Eventually the giggling became laughter, which he apologized for and tried to settle. 

"I--I'm sorry Itaki-san. It's just... that was rather fun, wasn't it?"

She found herself giggling alongside him.

Send ☂ for a FOOD headcanon.

While Claude knows how to prepare most foods due to his training as a servant/house aid he doesn't actually have a wide variety of food that he likes. If you gave him something he would probably do his best to pretend to like it, or he actually would (out of sheer nervousness he would have other people taste his cooking before serving it). But his experience in the food world is minimal and he stills needs to spend time exploring that.
