"Prince Hamlet!" Laertes was out of breath.  He had run  through what felt like half of Elsinore in order to seek the prince.  Finding him, he released an extended breathe, combing his fingers through his hair to ensure it wasn't too disheveled.  The king had told Polonius to tell Laertes to seek Hamlet.

Practice your fencing. They chastised.  Learn from Hamlet.

Laertes wasn't sure the prince was the best person to compete against.  To a certain extent, he was intimidated.  But that was half the point.  He always felt the spirit of competition straining his fragmented relations to the prince, a fetter on what he wished was a companionship.  He frequently wondered if the King told Hamlet to strive toward Laertes's standards.  But he chose not to pursue that thought process.

Snowglobe

Send me an object and I have to make a head canon out of it.(Examples to send: Chair, barbie doll, tooth brush, etc.)

Link has a snowglobe hidden within his home. It's a small thing, something fairly inexpensive that one finds at any basic souvenir shop, but it's very special to him for one reason. It was a gift, given by a shy fighter the hero once knew who came to see Link as a type of human comfort. Short on money and too young to think of much, the snowglobe depicting a pretty scene Link had never encountered before was offered right when they were about to part ways. It was so sincere and so sweet, Link had never even thought of refusing.

Now every time he sees one, he thinks of his secret treasure, and he smiles.

Once Upon a Midnight Dreary

Jamie had never hated anything more than this: 12:30 at night, she sat at her desk, five books and corresponding notebooks spread out in front of her, with none of her studying getting done. She tried to turn up her music a little more, but it did nothing to drown out the crying screams from the next apartment.

Finals were in a month. She was frustrated. And no matter how many times she complained, the family next door never did anything to try and stop the screaming baby. But maybe sixth time would be the charm, she thought with a growl as she pounded on the wall once again.
