Beca pulled the towel away from her dark, dripping hair and sighed, throwing the damp towel towards the pile of laundry on the floor of Nadia's room as she always did. Walking past her room towards Trinity's, she paused just as she was preparing to push the door open at the sight of the note that was taped to the door. 'Went on a blood run with Nad, Lizzy went to the lake. Be back soon.' Beca pulled the small slip of paper, and the tape holding it there, off of the door, and, sighing, she crumpled it all in her hand, before walking back down the hall the way she'd come. Reaching the front of the cabin, Beca tossed the note into the trash can in the kitchen, and began searching for her glass and bourbon; Nadia had taken to hiding her liquor, -- as if that would help anything -- but it never stopped her from looking anyway. And besides, she was alone, besides Gizmo and her kitten, and obviously they wouldn't stop her.
Minutes that felt like hours passed before Beca managed to locate one of her crystal glasses, and the bottle of her precious bourbon that Nadia had tried to hide from her. Well done, Nad. She thought to herself as she began to pour the liquor into a glass, before changing her mind halfway. She picked up the glass and quickly drank the tiny amount she'd poured before putting the glass in the sink, picking up the bottle, and moving to sit on the couch in the next room. Gizmo jumped up next to her the minute she sat down, plopping his head down onto her legs and staring up at her. Beca took a long drink from the bottle before scratching his head, "What?" She said. "So I cried in the shower, whoop-di-do." She lowered her voice, not missing the whimper her puppy let out. She looked down at him again and re-positioned so she could set the bottle down, allowing her to pet her dog properly. "It's okay," she said to him quietly, noticing the all-too-familiar sting behind her eyes, and she bit down on her lip before wrapping her arms around the dog's neck, feeling the hot tears that threatened to start falling again, and for once she was grateful to be alone. "It's...it's okay..."
