So... About the ITLD breakup
Some people are blaming Martyn for breaking Kaeyi’s heart and others just don’t seem to get it. I’m not a spokes-person for either of them, but from having watched the last ever ITLD vlog and been a fan of both of them for a while, I have something to say. First off, to the comments saying that Martyn doesn’t care since he’s playing games and going to cons like normal, it’s his job, not a hobby. Like, his only source of income, of course he’s gonna be uploading like nothing’s happened, if he doesn’t, he doesn’t get paid. It’s like any other job. And he mentioned that the con was a good distraction for him to clear his head and get some space. Even Kaeyi went to see friends and family. Secondly, the reasons they broke up seem perfectly clear. a) They had been more like best friends than lovers for a long time which, in its self, is a good reason to end things. And b) It’s no secret that Kaeyi wants to be married and have a family. Martyn may want that too but has felt that, as it stands, he is not the best version of himself to give that to her. He mentioned in December he had a sort of break down, which I imagine was a ‘make it or break it’ moment for him, and he pushed to make it. He bought the bigger house, stood by her during her illness and supported her for as long as he could. That’s gonna have a toll on anyone’s mental health, and it may have gotten to a point where he could see that prolonging this was unfair to both them. Since breaking up, Kaeyi still has a place to reside until she can support herself, Martyn’s gonna take care of the kitties until Kaeyi’s has a big enough place, and they’re still best friends evidenced by them attending the Area 11 concert, watching the The Walking Dead together and playing games. We should be supporting them both through a hard time, not tearing them down. What will that do, other than cause arguments and heart ache? Honestly, all these hate comments are adding unnecessary drama, trying to make it into anything else than what it is: an amiable breakup.
