okay, in no particular order:

the louvre, hard feelings, perfect places

(god i feel BAD because I wish I could say literally all of the songs but alas.)

overall opinion:

listening to this album for the first time felt like a religious experience; I ascended to enlightenment. it cleared up my skin and gave me a hug.

a more in-depth look into my feelings for this album bc now that I’m listening to it again I’m PASSIONATE!!!!! 

green light? A BANGER!! it perfectly conveys a whirlwind of passion, recklessness, self-destruction, and healing all at once and I don’t know HOW she does that BUT SHE DID! THAT!! also it always makes me think of nick and jess which makes me EMO!!!!! AND SAPPY!!!!!

sober?? A BOP! the beat? the backing vocals?? the one part in the chorus with the trumpets or whatever they are?? AMAZING. it truly deserved more hype. 

homemade dynamite? every version is the definition of dope. 10/10. catchy and lit, what else could you need in a song?? 

the louvre?? hang that song in the louvre, amiright ladies!!! truly deserves it. sonically: a masterpiece. 

liability?? i almost put this in my top 3 bc I hardcore relate on a deep level to it and I have 100% cried listening to it several times in my life. it just. gets to me. i feel it. what a fuckin ballad.but also the lowkey queerbaiting made me want to faint so it ultimately didn’t make my top 3 cut.

hard feelings?? the music!! THE SNAPS IN IT!!!! the bridge instrumental!!!! i determine all albums’ like-ability by how many songs I can snap my fingers to. this song is top-notch. “i light all the candles, cut flowers for all my rooms; i care for myself the way i used to care about you” fUck mE UP LORDE!!!

loveless?? the ultimate earworm truly. 

sober II (melodrama): the instrumentals in this makes me want to know how to do ballet but like in a spooky way. i!! love!!! it!!!!

writer in the dark?? okay this one was also almost in my top 3 bc it was one of my very faves when i first listened to it since like. ya know. im a writer. and the lyrics are just. wow. A1!!!

supercut?? GOD!!!!!! i wanted to pick this one too. but i know everyone says it. and even though it deserves it, Idk i had to pick the others. this song gives me a similar mood to ribs but not on the same level. i stan.

liability reprise: god just?? fuck me up lorde. why you gotta do this to me???

perfect places: i listen to this song more often than all the others because it’s just so freakin catchy and it hypes me up so much that it is the only reason I have gotten a speeding ticket because i got too into it when my windows were down. “what the fuck are perfect places!!!! anyway!!!!!” WHAT A MOOD!!!!! it makes me feel connected to the rest of my generation in a way that’s like “ah yes let us all bond over our mutual feelings of confusion, dread, loss, and looking for solace and feeling in a cruel world through things that will ultimately never make us feel fulfilled but who cares bc we’re all young and afraid and ashamed anyway so lets just enjoy the shallow parts before the world ends bc there are no heroes left” but like in a weirdly hopeful way??? I LOVE THIS SONG. it’s unifying and dividing at the same time. a banger.
