Organizing Work On Your Blog: Pages
Hey, I would recommend for you guys to do what I did on my page to organize my work for film on my blog. I made two linked pages within my blog, one for film analysis and the other for film article reviews. You can go to my blog to see what I did; it’s right under the “contact” link under my photo. It’s to organize your posts for future reference, the posts show up on your main blog, and show up inside the appropriate pages. So for instance, If I wanted to go back to see a certain post on my blog, I wouldn’t have to sift through posts like this one, I could go straight to the right page where all my posts are organized. What you do is simple: 1. Go to your blog (e.g If I wanted to get to mine i would go to www.authorizedbackstage.tumblr.com) 2. In the top right corner click the “customize” tab 3. Go to the left customize side bar, scroll to the tab that says “pages” click that, and then click “add a new page” 4. A pop up window will open where you can create your new page. It will ask you for a url, a page title, if you want to show a link to your page (yes you do) and for a body (put nothing, it doesn’t matter) 5. The page url is the important part because it’s how you organize your posts to show up on your new page, to do this you need to tag them so that they coincide with each other. The url for my fIlm review page is: www.authorizedbackstage.tumblr.com/tagged/filmreview 6. This works when creating my film review posts I would tag them with “filmreview” exactly as it appears in the last part of the url. Tagging is easy, for example one of the tags I tagged this post with is “TAG”. The tags are shown below the post when they are posted. 7. Then you have a place where only your film article reviews show up, and another place where only your film analysis. And they will both be on your main page as well. If you need help, I could help you guys out tomorrow ^^ Or you could just keep your blog one page. Your choice :)
