i think my favourite fun fact reading these books on genetics and heredity is that, after a point in history (i think it's a few thousand years but dont quote me on that) any person from that point in time who has living descendants today is gonna be the ancestor of nearly everyone person alive today, just from the nature of how genetics work and are passed on over time. if one family can trace their lineage to someone from a few thousand years ago, then Everyone can
