I’ll say it again a movie that is bad because critics didn’t like it and a movie that is bad because audiences didn’t like it are two fundamentally different kinds of bad and the second is worse then the first

#critics are predisposed to hate anything truly new and groundbreaking #beacuse that suggests that the audience isnt in fact them #meanwhile audiences dont much care (usually) as long as the movie is actually fun and watchable #its like cake #you bitter old asshole relative will take any cake that isnt THEIR favorite #as a slight against THEIR favorite #while everyone else is like fuck yeah CAKE
