this is a silly tip but if you’re struggling to fill up sketchbook pages or if you have blank page anxiety: paint in an old book. Find an old novel that’s being discarded by the library or a damaged picture book from a thrift store. Gesso the pages together to make them thicker, or don’t, and just absolutely go to town. Cover up as much words/pictures as you can, or use them to inspire the contents of the page. There’s no blank page to give you anxiety, and ideally the book should be so cheap and the quality of the paper so bad that you won’t feel bad about using up pages and potentially making not great works. Literally just absolutely ruin it it’s so fun.
