It's super weird that after 12 years I'm finally getting off of Reddit.
I've always been a lurker, I don't really post much anywhere, but since about 2011 I've had a Reddit account and been upvoting, downvoting, and saving bookmarks. I never thought I'd see the day when a bunch of *Redditors* didn't give enough of a shit to stop the hated management from impacting their precious "free speech" zones.
It feels weird that tomorrow I won't be able to pull out my phone as I get ready for my day and look at the latest Warhammer news and amazing mini paint jobs, see people asking the stupidest questions in r/AskReddit, laugh at something obtuse and nonsensical in r/antijokes or r/fifthworldproblems, or even see a Wednesday Frog post in r/youtubehaiku.
Reddit has always been a center for niche knowledge and a cesspool of snarky neckbeards constantly trying to one-up each other for Internet Points but I will miss some of the esoteric knowledge that you just couldn't find anywhere else.
Anyway, fuck Reddit, fuck Spez, and please don't fuck me Tumblr. For all your ups and downs, I've been here forever too. If this weird little site can live through being bought by Yahoo and the Porn Ban, it can live through just about anything.
Of course, I thought that about Reddit too.
