I call this pattern. "The Garter Stitch Shawl from Hell". The actual pattern name is Berion by Petra Breakstone and it's free on Ravelry. I call it the shawl from hell just because I hate garter stich. But I tried a lot of different pattern, even a couple from the yarn makers, but they just looked weird. Garter stitch was best but is so boring to me that I actually dropped stitches a few times so there's a few holes. #itsadesignelement The yarn is beautiful and soft, but weird and kinda kinky. But! The yarn is such a beautiful color and garter stitch shows that so well. The color is called Stained Glass. 😍 The pattern basically says to knit a rectangle. And since I wanted to use all of the yarn, I just kept going till it was gone. I didn't even have enough for a traditional cast off. The pattern goes on to instruct you to sew up one side, leaving one side long so that's it's a shrug/scarf combo. But I decided to sew up both sides and make a very drapey beautiful shrug. And!!! It's wide enough to pull over my head, like an old Hollywood starlet. ✨To block it, I just soaked it and hung it over the shower curtain rack to dry, using shower hooks to weigh it down. I didn't want to aggressively block since the garter stitch was pretty loose and the shawl heavy. I knew it would basically block itself. I'll be posting more, like the yarn and yardage and dimensions, on Ravelry later. 😘 Outfit details: Skirt: Lane Bryant Shirt: Walmart Necklace: Thrifted #knitting #knitters #knitstagram #knittersofinstagram #instaknits #knitblr #garterstitch #style #handmade #ootd #handmadeandpreowned #handmadestyle #makeyourownclothes
