The Arcee things sounds weird to me as an outsider thats not a fan of the source material bc why would you like what's basically a forced transaction? Just because it's "transfemme rep"? Okay, why would you choose this over the many other options out there? Maybe it's because I'm transmasc and i don't see as much rep for people like me like transwomen have, but I just don't get it. None of it sounds like good rep to begin with
Want to know the worst part? The IDW series already had two transfem characters by that point. Their names are Anode and Lug, one transitioned medically and the other didn't, and they're madly in love. Neither of their transitions involved being strapped down to a surgical table against their will.
Pre-retcon Arcee meant a lot to certain transmasc and nobinary people. I saw firsthand the way the fandom treated those people, and I'm a lot colder for it.
