Do you by any chance know any fic where they talk in Italian? Like Jane says something thinking Maura doesn't understand but actually does and replies? Thanks xx
Alrighty, since my only skill is fic'ing, I hope you like this. I was that one anonymous person asking what sort of prompt/fic you would want to read, so I hope this lives up to your expectations of a good fic. (: Merry Christmas my friend and a happy new year. -Holly
Summery: Their first Christmas together and then their fifth...
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... The sound of Bing Crosby's voice wafted throughout the house as Maura entered, shedding her winter coat and hanging it in the hall closet. Off key and cracking slightly, Jane's voice sang along.
A soft smile settled on Maura's lips and excitement unfurled itself inside Maura's stomach and spread throughout her extremities in a warmth that she had come to associate her girlfriend with. After she finished putting away her things, Maura headed into the den where she stopped in her tracks to see the tree they had picked out a few days ago, up in all it's evergreen glory.
The soft gasp that escaped her lips alerted Jane to her presence and the brunette grinned at her. She glided across the room and took Maura's hand and wrapped her arm around a slender waist. She began to lead the honey blonde into a slow dance, holding her close and singing softly in her ear.
"May your days be marry and bright. And may all your Christmases be white..." Jane husked quietly as the song finished and a different song came on. Pulling back, Jane smiled at the look of adoration on Maura's face. "The tree looks great, doesn't it?"
Maura looked it over again and smiled, feeling inexplicably happy. This was their first Christmas as a couple, living together. "It's perfect." Past Christmases had never been something great, especially when you spent it alone most of the time. Christmas a child wasn't great either. The tree was always professionally done and Maura would open gifts with her nanny. But now, with Jane and the Rizzoli clan, it was made to be something special.
Jane pressed a soft kiss to the corner of Maura's mouth. "What's that big brain of yours thinking about?" She mused, still holding the honey blonde close.
Maura blinked, bringing her gaze back to Jane. "Just that... I'm so lucky to have you and your family. You make me very happy, Jane." She replied lovingly.
"They're your family too. And give it a couple of years, I'm sure you'll get tired of me." She joked with a half smile.
Hazel eyes looked into dark brown ones adoringly. "Impossible." Their lips met but the kiss was short lived when a song Maura had never heard before came on.
I saw mommy kissing Santa Clause, underneath the Mistletoe last night... Maura chuckled. "What sort of song is that?" She asked in genuine curiosity.
Jane laughed. "Santa is actually supposed to be the kid's dad... I think... Dressed up as Santa?" She frowned as she listened to the lyrics. "You better not ever kiss Santa Clause." She teased as she moved to grab a box of orniments.
Maura feigned a gasp. "I would never... Unless Santa was actually our child's mother." She gave a playful wink when Jane looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

It had been five Christmases since their first and now Jane and Maura were married with an excited 3 year old. Christmas eve at Jane's mother's house had been quite an event and though it was way passed Lucas' bedtime, he was still running on full tilt. "Mommy, mommy! Santa's comin' t'night!" He cheered, running into the foyer as soon as Jane unlocked the door.
His dress shirt was un-tucked from his black dress pants and his red little tie had been loosened. He was at the age that he was finally able to really grasp the concept of Santa. "Lucas, no running!" Maura called, shaking her head.
The little boy was Jane all over, though Maura had carried him. She looked at Jane when she heard his loud, uncoordinated footsteps as he trampled down the hall, hopped up on sugar and the thought of Santa. "Please go retrieve your son before he falls and hurts himself."
Jane smirked. "So he's my son, now?"
"Yes. When he runs wildly through the house..." She paused, looking at a pair of discarded pants. "Half naked apparently, he is your son." She teased, leaning down to pick up the pants and folding them neatly.
Laughing, Jane nodded. "Okay, okay." She headed down the hall and as soon as the pant-less boy came running her way, she scooped him up and held him upside down. "What happen to your pants, little man?" She asked on a chuckle, holding the squirming little boy who was clad in only a pair of Spiderman underwear and his dress shirt.
"Too itchy!" He said, trying to get right-side up. "Ma! Put me down!" Lucas tried to sound mad but he laughed as his Ma carried him down to his room to put on his pajamas.
She set the boy down on his bed and began pulling out some Pajamas. Once she had his change of clothes, she turned to see her son bouncing on the bed. One hard look from his Ma, though and he stopped immediately. "That's what I thought." She said as she knelt down in front of the bed and began to unbutton his shirt.
"So, what do you want Santa to bring you the most?" She asked as the boy held up his arms for Jane to pull on his long sleeved pajama shirt.
Lucas looked thoughtful as he put one hand on his Ma's shoulder to steady himself while he put one leg in the pajama pants. "Well, I really, really want a baby brother or sister."
The reply caught Jane off guard and she looked up at his face. He looked a lot like her and had her energy but he was very bright, like Maura. "I think that's a little out of Santa's reach, buddy." She said as she picked him up and set him on the ground so she could pull back the covers.
Lucas climbed into bed and looked up at Jane with a slight frown. "I know but... It's not out of your reach." He replied easily. It was moments like these that Jane was reminded how much he was also Maura's son.
Before Jane could even reply, his train of thought changed. "Where's mommy? Isn't she going to read us The Night Before Christmas? She promised."
"I'm right here, baby." Maura's voice rang from behind Jane as she entered her son's bedroom. The little boy patted the spot beside him and Maura smiled as she slipped in beside him.
She opened the book and allowed Lucas to snuggle up to her and began to read.
Jane was still in shock. They had been trying for a second baby, but nothing had took yet. They had decided to use the same sperm doner but with Maura's eggs.
After Maura was sure the little boy was asleep, she made a move to extricate herself but Lucas stopped her. "Mommy?" His voice was sleepy-sounding and his eyes were closed.
"What is it, baby?" She asked quietly, glancing at Jane who was sitting at the edge of the boy's bed. "When are you gonna tell ma about my new baby brother or sister?" His hand moved to Maura's stomach and patted it lovingly.
Maura's face turned a shade of red and she looked up at Jane who's face resembled that of a goldfish. "Well it was going to be a Christmas gift to the both of you but seeing as how you spoiled it... Merry Christmas."
Jane's shocked expression turned into a wide smile. "Really?" She asked quietly.
Maura nodded as she stood up, leaning down to kiss their son good night. When she was at full height, Jane pulled her in for a hug and a kiss.
"Merry Christmas, Jane." She whispered.
"Merry Christmas." They kissed chastely before leaving to go play Santa for their son.
The Christmas card, unlike every other year, was given as a gift Christmas day. Captured in the frame was a glowing Maura, standing in the center, with her loving wife and son on either side of her, poised just over her belly, each placing a delicate kiss to their new family member.
