It's Tell Us About You Tuesday! Our roving reporter caught up with Judi "The Outlaw" Laganga of "The Calamity Improv Group". Here's what she had to say! RR: Thanks for meeting with me. Tell us about your improv background. JL: My only experience with improv was to run the other way!! I never thought I would be any good at....... I still wonder.... RR: Too funny. Why did you decide to join The Calamity? JL: I found a posting online and I decided that I had nothing to lose. When I got the call that they wanted to cast me - I think I went into shock! RR: We're so glad you joined! What makes The Calamity special? JL: The entire team! The give and take. I’ve learned so much from everyone!! RR:Tell us about what you do in rehearsals. JL: We play........ and learn....... and play some more! RR: Do you have any favorite improv games? JL: I...like the chance to be the negative person (Yay/Boo & The good, bad, & the ugly) I am usually a very upbeat positive person - to get to release my darker side is just so fun!!! RR: That must be why they callnyou "The Outlaw"! What are some struggles in building an improv group? JL: Staying in the moment and getting to really know and trust each other. RR: What unique qualities do you contribute to The Calamity? JL: I dont know that I have anything unique other than the fact that I have lived a hell of a lot longer than the rest of ‘em!!! RR: What is some advice you have for new improvisers? JL: Say “Yes”!! RR: Absolutely. What is your secret talent? JL: Well now if I told you that it wouldn’t be a secret!! You’ll just have to come see and figure it out for yourself. RR: What are you afraid of? JL: Bad reviews!! LOL!... I’m afraid of hitting any animal while I’m driving......... for that I should’ve stayed in Jersey. RR: That IS scary! When do you feel most alive onstage? JL: When I hear audience reaction. RR: Who is your comedy hero or heroine? JL: Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Tina Fey, Julia Louis Dreyfus RR: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? JL: My dogs!!
