Rumplestiltskin hadn’t been paying attention as he stormed down the corridor of the Dark Castle, so in a way it had been partially his fault. But even with his foresight, what he couldn’t say was that he had expected the door to open right as he tried to walk past. The door immediately hit him in the face, catching him off guard and causing him to stumble back with a grunt of pain.
“Watch what you’re doing!” he snapped, rubbing his nose.

He shouldn’t have been reacting like this - after all, it was only a plane. Robert knew that there was a higher chance of him being struck by lightning than anything happening on the flight, but that didn’t stop his mind from racing with possibilities. He hoped it wasn’t very obvious. It may have been his first flight, but he was a fully grown, perfectly capable adult. He shouldn’t have been thoroughly terrified.
But he was.
He rested his head back against the headrest and closed his eyes, ignoring everyone around him as he tried to keep himself calm. He was gripping the arm rests tightly, knuckles white.

Of all the things that could have possibly happened within the few weeks he was stranded in New York, this wasn't what he expected. The Dark One lay bleeding from a deep wound just inside an alley after having been attacked. Him, attacked by a petty criminal! But what was on his mind wasn't calling for help. Sure, he had a phone he had swiped tucked safely in his pocket, but all he could think about was Belle.
Though he doubted she would even answer his call despite the unfamiliar number, he had to try. He didn't believe he would survive this, and he couldn't just die in the streets without telling Belle everything that needed to be said. With a soft grunt of pain, he pulled out the phone and dialed her number.

The doors of the main hall opened for him, the heels of his boots clicking on the floor as he entered. His fingers were pressed together and he was muttering something incoherent until he caught sight of Belle scrubbing the main floor.
"Well dearie, I see you're actually doing your work and not reading one of your books."
