If you steal your opponent's commander and attack them with it, would this count towards their "commander damage" life total?
Players can totally be killed with their own Commander's Commander Damage.
Remember that Commander Damage is separate for each Commander, however. Commander Damage from your Commander and from their Commander don't count toward the same Commander Damage. You still have to take 21 from a single Commander to lose, not 21 from all Commanders combined.
I feel like this is stupid, but is there a difference between Equip and Attach? I've seen both on the same card and I'm quite confused as to the difference.
Basically the only difference, in this case, is that Attaching is Instant Speed, while you can only Equip as a Sorcery.
Any tips on EDH format? I'm thinking I'm going to start playing in that format and I don't want to go in blind.
Try buying one of the pre-cons in a color (or colors if you can find old ones) that you usually like to play, and start from there. They are an awesome jumping-off point if you are new to Commander.
